ARTitudeStudio presents "Punyakoti", a 10-day dance and theatre workshop for children aged 5-10 years.
The story of Punyakoti, the honest cow, is popular a folk tale from Karnataka, written in the form of poetry by an anonymous author. This story has been a part of children's curriculum in schools of Karnataka for many years. It has great relevance as a moral story for kids, with lessons about honesty, sacrifice and altruism.
In this ten day workshop, participants will learn a dance-drama presentation depicting the story of Punyakoti. The workshop will culminate into staging of the presentation at ARTitudeStudio, on final day. Tickets for same will be available at a nominal charge. Money collected through tickets will be distributed among children as their remuneration for a performance, along with certificates. A soft copy of recording of the performance will be mailed to parents of each participant.
Along with dance-drama, children will also learn basics of staging a performance like venue set up, stage set up, lighting, handling resources at hand, etc.
Children will also be provided healthy, homemade snacks and beverages during breaks in between the sessions.
